Compassionate Mind Training

An internationally recognized, evidence-based Compassionate Mind Training program rooted in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

I invite you to a time of pause and wise self-care. To learning how to live with your emotions rather than under their influence, and to mindful presence — so you can care for what truly matters to you in life.

Based on Paul Gilbert’s Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Compassionate Mind Training (CMT) has been scientifically researched and standardized to help us bring awareness to our thoughts and emotions, allowing us to experience the transformative power of CMT techniques firsthand.

This approach integrates two core dimensions: mindfulness (the cognitive side) and compassion (the affective side). Throughout the practice, we will combine both mindfulness and compassion techniques."

Over the course of eight weeks of combined group and individual practice, we will explore the nature of emotions, their bodily experience, and the ways our brain and nervous system navigate them. We will also learn to offer ourselves compassion in the face of hardship. Beyond simply managing threat-related emotions such as anxiety and anger, our focus is on building a new form of internal resilience. The power of Compassion.

Together, we will cultivate a space to dive deeper into who you are—connecting with your needs, your innate strength, and opening up new ways of thinking, feeling, and taking action in your life. Korzystając z naszych zmysłów, emocji, wyobraźni, refleksyjności, uważności będziemy zbliżać się, odczuwać i pracować z naszymi umysłami.

So, what are we anchoring into? A space of gentle self-sensitivity, slowing our pace, connecting with our deepest intention, and bringing our internal and external worlds into harmony. We are opening up to curiosity, building a safe place within, discovering soothing, and coming home to who we are.

In our first few sessions, we'll spend a good amount of time looking at how the human brain has evolved, why this can sometimes make life tricky, and how we can learn to work with our minds rather than against them.

We will learn, for example, why experiencing intense feelings of anger, fear, or sadness is rarely our fault—it is simply a result of how our brain, much like that of other animals, was shaped by evolution. Unlike animals, however, we can learn to understand our emotions and become increasingly mindful and aware of how they operate within us. We can cultivate compassion and make conscious choices about how we want to live and who we want to be in the world.

Each session always consists of three core elements: practical exercises, open discussion, and theoretical foundations.

  • We will discuss and self-assess how our three emotion regulation systems function, and practice practical ways to restore balance among them.
  • We'll move beyond the idea of compassion as mere sentimentality and explore its four genuine pillars—wisdom, kindness, courage, and active engagement.
  • We will map out the three directions compassion flows: self-compassion, compassion offered to others, and compassion received from others—identifying where we feel connected and where we need to bring more gentle focus and care.
  • As always, whenever we start acting with good intentions for ourselves and others, we can expect a few bumps in the road! :) So, we’ll take a gentle look at our fears and blocks to compassion, ensuring they don't hold us back from living a meaningful life.
  • We'll explore the internal habits that diminish our sense of self-worth and learn practical tools to navigate and ease the emotional distress caused by the inner critic.
  • Throughout the eight modules and between sessions, we will practice compassion and mindfulness exercises grounded in a scientifically proven neurophysiological model of how our brain and nervous system work. These will include soothing-rhythm breathing, visualization, tonglen, body scans, compassionate letter writing, setting intentions, movement-based meditation, and more
